Versace is known for their luxurious garments, so finding tar stains on them can be extremely disheartening. The good news is that tar can be removed with right approach. Here are the steps you'll need to follow to make sure stain is completely removed without damaging your Versace piece.
Using a dull butter knife or other blunt instrument, gently scrape away any excess tar from the fabric. Be sure to take your time and be very gentle with this step as even scraping too hard can cause damage. Once you're done, you should be left with a soft tar residue on the fabric.
It's important to use a cleaning solution that won't damage fabric of your Versace clothing. A good combination is one quart of warm water, one tablespoon of liquid dish detergent, and one and a half tablespoons of white vinegar. Mix these ingredients together until it forms a paste-like consistency. Apply the paste onto the stained area with a soft brush, making sure to cover the entire area. Allow mixture to sit for 10 minutes.
Once the paste is done sitting, rinse off the area using cool water. Make sure to remove all of the paste. You may want to repeat the process one more time to ensure that the stain disappears completely. After rinsing, allow garment to air dry. Do not use a dryer or put it in direct sunlight.
With these easy steps, you can get rid of tar stains from your Versace garment with ease. In the future, it's best to avoid getting spots of tar on your clothing, as even gentlest of cleaning solutions can cause discoloration or other damage.
