5 Easy Steps to Get Tar Stains Out of Your T-Shirts!
Tar stains are tough to remove from clothing but it’s not impossible. Follow these 5 simple steps to get tar stains out of your T-shirts.

Option 1 - Dish Soap
- Step 1: Dab the stained area with a paper towel to remove as much of the tar as possible.
- Step 2: Create a mixture of one cup of warm water and one teaspoon of dish soap.
- Step 3: Soak the stained T-shirt in the mixture for 30 minutes.
- Step 4: Gently rub the stained area and then rinse the T-shirt with cold water.
- Step 5: Place the T-shirt in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry and wash as usual.
Option 2 - White Vinegar
- Step 1: Dab the stained area with a paper towel to remove as much of the tar as possible.
- Step 2: Create a mixture of one cup of warm water and one teaspoon of white vinegar.
- Step 3: Soak the stained T-shirt in the mixture for 30 minutes.
- Step 4: Gently rub the stained area and then rinse T-shirt with cold water.
- Step 5: Place the T-shirt in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry and wash as usual.
Option 3 - Alcohol
- Step 1: Dab the stained area with a paper towel to remove as much of the tar as possible.
- Step 2: Apply rubbing alcohol or vodka to the stain and let sit for 30 minutes.
- Step 3: Gently rub the stained area and then rinse T-shirt with cold water.
- Step 4: Place the T-shirt in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry and wash as usual.
