Step 1: Scrape Away Excess Tar

To start, use the edge of a knife or a plastic putty knife to scrape away any excess tar from the tights. Be gentle and avoid using too much pressure so as not to cut fabric.

Step 2: Soak in Hot Water

Once you have removed the excess tar, fill a basin with hot water and soak the tights. Make sure the water is as hot as you can stand it, as heat helps to break down the tar. Let tights soak for about an hour.

Step 3: Apply Stain Remover

After soaking the tights, rub a few drops of stain remover into the stained areas with your fingers. Use a soft-bristle brush or a toothbrush to gently work in the stain remover. Let the remover sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat as Necessary

Rinse tights in cold water until the water runs clear and check to see if the stain is still present. If it is, repeat the whole process as necessary. Once stain is gone, hang the tights up to dry.
