Step 1 - Test the Stain Remover

Before applying a stain remover to the tar stain on your taffeta, you should first test the solution on an inconspicuous area of fabric. This will allow you to ensure that the solution won't damage the taffeta fabric before using it on the stained area.

Step 2 - Apply the Stain Remover

Once you've tested the solution and determined it is safe to use, apply it to the area of the taffeta that is stained with tar. Use a clean white cloth to gently dab the solution onto the fabric.

Step 3 - Rinse the Stained Area

After solution has been applied to the stained area, rinse the area with warm water. A soft brush can be used to gently agitate solution, which can help to break up the tar stain.

Step 4 - Repeat if Necessary

If the stain is still visible after one application of the cleaning solution and rinsing, repeat the process as necessary until the tar stain is fully removed.
