  • Liquid dish soap

Method 1 – Removing Tar Stains with Dish Soap and Water

  1. Mix equal parts liquid dish soap and warm water in a bowl or bucket, stirring together until it forms a sudsy solution.
  2. Submerge the stained area of the t-shirt in the soapy mixture.
  3. Allow the t-shirt to soak for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Use the scrub brush to agitate soapy water around the stained area.
  5. Rinse t-shirt off with cold water.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 if the stain persists.

Method 2 – Removing Tar Stains with Vinegar

  1. Soak the stained area of the t-shirt with white vinegar.
  2. Allow vinegar to set for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Use the scrub brush to gently scrub the tar residue.
  4. Rinse the t-shirt off with cold water.
  5. If the stain persists, use a clean white cloth to blot the area with more white vinegar.
  6. Rinse the t-shirt with cold water one more time and allow it to air dry.
