Tar stains can be a nightmare to remove from clothes, but never fear! With a few simple steps, you’ll be able to get them out of your sundress in no time. Here’s how:

  • First, start by scraping the tar off the sundress as best you can with a dull knife or spoon.
  • After the bulk of the tar has been removed, you’ll want to saturate the area with a solvent or degreaser. This can be anything from rubbing alcohol to lighter fluid to even just a bit of acetone.
  • Once the area is saturated, use a stiff brush to really work the product into the fabric. Be sure not to scrub too hard, but make sure to really get into the fibers of the sundress.
  • Once everything has been scrubbed and scrubbed again, rinse the area with cool water.
  • Place the sundress on top of a clean white cloth or paper towel and dab up the rest of solvent.
  • Allow sundress to air dry and then assess the stain to see if any of it remains.
  • If the stain is still there, repeat the steps above until it is completely gone.

And that’s all there is to it! With a little patience and persistence, you’ll have your sundress looking good as new in no time.
