The first step in getting tar stains out of Habotai fabric is to scrape off any excess tar with a butter knife or other dull object. Be sure not to use anything sharp, as it could tear the fabric and make the stain even worse.
Once the excess tar has been removed, lightly dampen the stained area with some warm water. Then, apply a small amount of liquid dish soap directly onto the stain and gently rub it into the fabric.
Next, use a soft cloth to rub the soap into the fabric in a circular motion. Let the soapy mixture sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing it away with more warm water.
After rinsing the soapy mixture, test a small area of fabric to make sure the color of fabric has not been affected. You may need to repeat these steps a few times if the stain does not come out completely.
Once the stain is gone, lay the fabric out flat on a towel and allow it to air dry. Do not put the fabric in the dryer, as this could cause the stain to set permanently.
