Tar stains on rayon can be tricky to remove. It’s important to act quickly and use right technique to prevent the stain from setting in and ruining fabric. This guide will show you how to safely and effectively remove tar stains from rayon.

1. Scrape off as much of tar as possible. Use a soft bristled brush to gently loosen any excess tar from the fabric. Do not press down too hard or rub the fabric vigorously, as this may cause the stain to spread.
2. Pre-treat with white vinegar. Soak a clean cloth with some white vinegar and blot the stain until it is saturated. Allow vinegar to soak in for 10-15 minutes.
3. Wash using a laundry detergent. Once the white vinegar has had a chance to set, wash the garment as usual with a laundry detergent. Use cold water to rinse away the detergent and any remaining tar.
4. Dry and inspect. Hang or line dry your garment as you normally would. Inspect the fabric closely to make sure that all traces of the tar have been removed.
