This is one of the easiest ways to remove tar stains from a pencil skirt. Start by creating a solution of equal parts laundry detergent and warm water. Mix it together until suds form, then dip a cloth into the solution and gently rub the stain. Work the solution into fabric, but make sure not to scrub too hard lest you damage the material. After doing this, rinse skirt with cold water and let it air dry.
Using vinegar is another way to remove tar stains from pencil skirts. Begin by mixing equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl. Dab the solution onto the stain with a cloth and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After that, rinse the skirt with cold water and let it air dry.
Using gasoline is a last resort when it comes to removing tar stains from a pencil skirt. Start by dabbing a small amount of gasoline onto the stain. Let it soak in for 5-10 minutes before blotting stain with a rag. Rinse the skirt with cold water afterwards and let it air dry. Note that this method should only be used if the other two methods fail, as it can be very dangerous and may damage the fabric of the skirt.
