What You Need
- White vinegar
- Dish soap
- A clean sponge or soft-bristled brush
- Paper towels
Instructions
- Start by blotting up excess tar with paper towels.
- Mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part dish soap in a small container or bucket.
- Dip a clean sponge or soft-bristled brush into the solution and rub it over the stain, using circular motions. Allow it to soak for 5 minutes.
- Blot excess solution with paper towels.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the tar stain is gone.
Final Steps
- Once tar has been removed, rinse the garment with cold water.
- Allow garment to air dry.
- If any of the tar remains, repeat steps 1-5 until stain is gone.
