If tar gets on your favorite pajamas, don't worry. You may be able to remove the spot successfully using common household products. For example, rubbing alcohol, petroleum jelly, and baking soda can all help get rid of tar stains.

Steps for Removing Tar from Pajamas

  1. Start by soaking the stained area of the pajamas in a sink or bowl full of cold water and a few drops of dish soap for 10-15 minutes.
  2. After the fabric has soaked, carefully rub the stained area with rubbing alcohol. Do this until the tar spot has been removed or until it has become lighter in color.
  3. If tar spot is still present, cover the area with petroleum jelly and let it sit overnight.
  4. The next day, mix together a solution of one part baking soda and two parts warm water. Use a clean cloth to apply the solution on the tar stain.
  5. Rub the solution over tar spot gently and let it sit for several minutes. Then wash pajamas in the washing machine as usual using a mild detergent. Repeat these steps if needed.

With these simple steps, you can remove tar stains from your pajamas. Keep in mind that some fabrics may be more prone to staining than others, so always test the cleaning method on a small swatch of fabric first.
