- When the tar has been removed, pat dry area with a towel and let it air dry

- Soak the stained area with white vinegar and let it sit for about 10 minutes
- Using a scrub brush or shoe brush, scrub the area and rinse with warm water
- Repeat the process until all of the tar has been removed
- Pat dry the area with a towel and repeat as necessary
- Let the area air dry before wearing again
