Get Rid of Muslin's Unsightly Tar Stains in 8 Easy Steps!
Tar stains on muslin have a tendency to set and become difficult to clean. But with a few effective steps you can easily remove the stain without causing damage to your fabric.

- Start by testing an inconspicuous area to make sure the product and cleaning process won’t cause more stains or discoloration.
- Mix a teaspoon of dish soap with one cup of warm water.
- Dampen a cloth with the solution and gently pat the stain. Do not rub the fabric.
- Allow mixture to sit on the stain for several minutes.
- Rinse off soapy solution with lukewarm water.
- If there is still residue present, mix ½ teaspoon of white vinegar with a cup of lukewarm water. Dampen a new cloth with mixture and lightly dab the stained area.
- When the stain is removed, rinse off vinegar solution with lukewarm water.
- Lay the muslin flat to dry and avoid heaters or direct sunlight which can cause further discoloration.
