Step 1: Soak the Mesh with Hot Water and Detergent

The first step is to mix hot water and a small amount of detergent in a bucket. Mix them together to create suds. Then, submerge the mesh with tar stains into the solution.

Let the mesh sit in the mixture for about 15 minutes. This will help loosen up tar stains for easier cleaning later.

Step 2: Apply Petroleum Jelly to the Stain

After the mesh has been soaked in the detergent and water solution, apply petroleum jelly to the tar stains. Be sure to completely cover the tar with the jelly.

Let the petroleum jelly sit for 10 minutes. This will help break down and loosen the tar on mesh.

Step 3: Use a Soft Bristle Brush to Scrub Away the Tar

Once the jelly has had time to work its magic, use a soft bristle brush to scrub away the tar. Be sure to use gentle strokes in circular motions. Move the brush constantly so the bristles don’t scratch the mesh.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry the Mesh

When you have finished removing the tar, rinse off mesh with cold water. Then, lay the mesh out to dry.

Once it is completely dry, you will be able to enjoy your clean mesh surface!
