Your first step is to prepare a cleaning solution that is suited to removing tar stains from mattresses. You should mix a cup of baking soda with a cup of warm water. You can also add some dishwashing liquid for better results. Stir mixture together until it forms a paste-like consistency.
Using a clean cloth or brush, apply the paste over tar stain. Ensure that you cover the entire stain and let it sit for 15 minutes. During this time, the baking soda will absorb the tar and make it easier to remove.
Once the paste has been given enough time to settle, take a damp cloth and wipe off the paste. Be sure to use gentle circular motions while wiping the paste away. If any part of stain remains, repeat steps two and three until it has been completely removed.
After the tar stain has been removed, you can now rinse the surface of the mattress using a damp cloth. Make sure you remove all traces of the paste before drying the mattress with a dry towel. Do not use a hairdryer as it may damage the fabric of the mattress.
Once mattress has been dried fully, you should vacuum the surface to remove any remaining residue. This will also help to restore the mattress’ fluffiness and make it look like new again.
Tar stains are unsightly and can be difficult to remove from mattresses. However, with the right cleaning solution and a bit of patience you can easily get rid of them and restore the beauty of your mattress. Remember, prevention is always better than cure, so try to avoid getting tar stains on your mattress in the future!.
