What You Need

  • White vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Warm water
  • A clean cloth

Step One

Mix equal parts white vinegar and olive oil in a bowl. Use warm water to wet the stained area. Next, apply your mixture of vinegar and olive oil onto the tar stain. Let the mixture sit on the stain for around 15 minutes before moving onto the next step.

Step Two

Using a clean cloth, gently rub the mixture into the tar stain. Make sure to not scrub too hard, as this can damage the fabric. Once the mixture has been rubbed in, let it sit for another 15 minutes.

Step Three

After waiting 15 minutes, use warm water to rinse out the mixture and the stain. If any of the tar remains, repeat steps one and two until the stain is gone.
