What You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Dish soap
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Cotton balls/cotton swabs
  • Paper towels

Step 1: Prepare the Area

Before you begin cleaning the tar stain, cover the surrounding area with paper towels. This will help to absorb any excess moisture and prevent damage to the fabric.

Step 2: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

Apply rubbing alcohol to a cotton ball or cotton swab and rub it onto the affected area. The rubbing alcohol should penetrate the tar and help to dissolve it. Continue to rub until the tar has been completely dissolved.

Step 3: Wash the Joggers

Once the tar has been removed, it's time to wash the joggers. Fill the sink with warm, soapy water and add a few drops of dish soap. Submerge the joggers in the soapy water and let them soak for 10-15 minutes. After soaking, use the soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the area until the soap residue is gone.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the joggers with warm water to remove any remaining soap residue. Then, pat the joggers dry with a towel and hang them up to air dry.

And That's It!

Now that you know how to clean tar stains from joggers, you're free to continue on your jogging adventures without having to worry about stains or messes.
