  1. Using your sponge or cloth, blot the tar stain with cold water. This will help loosen the stain.
  2. Mix a few drops of dish soap with some white vinegar in a small bowl. Apply this solution to affected area with a sponge. Gently rub it onto the stain.
  3. Cover the area with plastic wrap. Let it sit for one hour before removing the wrap.
  4. After one hour, remove the plastic wrap and rinse the area with warm water.
  5. Sprinkle baking soda onto the area and allow it to sit for one hour.
  6. Blot area with paper towels or a clean cloth.
