Before you start cleaning off the tar stains, it’s important to ensure that you have all the necessary supplies. You will need a soft cloth, a piece of folded paper towel, distilled white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and a mild detergent.
The first step is to take the folded paper towel and gently blot at the stain. Do not rub the paper towel, as this could make the stain worse. Blot until you can no longer see any residue on paper towel.
Mix a solution of 1 part distilled white vinegar to 3 parts water. Dip the soft cloth in the solution and then gently dab at the stain. Allow the solution to sit for 5-10 minutes before continuing to the next step.
Next, take the rubbing alcohol and apply directly to the affected area. Gently rub alcohol into the stain using a circular motion. Focus on saturating the area, and then let the alcohol sit for 5 minutes.
Once the alcohol has been allowed to sit, create a detergent solution by mixing 1 teaspoon of detergent in 1 quart of warm water. Dip the soft cloth into the solution and use it to gently scrub stain. Allow the detergent solution to sit for20 minutes, and then rinse with cold water.
Finally, allow area to completely air dry before putting the Fendi item back together. This will ensure that all the moisture has been removed from fabric.
Tar stains can be difficult to remove, but with a few simple steps you can successfully restore surface of your Fendi item. By following these instructions, you can get back to enjoying your favorite accessory.
