The first and easiest method to remove tar stains from coveralls is by using a detergent and hot water. Begin by laying your coveralls flat on a clean surface. Using a damp cloth, rub a gentle detergent into the spot where the tar stain is located. Allow the detergent to set for several minutes before rinsing off with warm or hot water. To ensure that all of tar has been removed, use a brush or toothbrush to gently scrub at the stain.
If detergent and hot water method does not work, you can try using WD-40 and a brush. Start by spraying WD-40 onto spot where the tar stain is located. Then take a nylon brush or toothbrush and gently scrub the area. The WD-40 will help break down and loosen the tar. After scrubbing, wipe away any remaining WD-40 and rinse with warm water.
Glass cleaner and a scrubber can also effectively remove tar stains from coveralls. Use a cloth or spray bottle to apply glass cleaner to stain, and then use a scrubber or toothbrush to gently scrub the area. Make sure to take care not to damage the fabric of your coveralls while you are scrubbing. Once you have finished scrubbing, wipe away any remaining glass cleaner and rinse the area with warm water.
