What You’ll Need:

  • White cloth
  • Heavy-duty laundry detergent
  • Cleaning cloth

Step 1: Blot the Stain

With a white cloth, blot the stain to remove any excess tar. Blotting will help absorb the stain without letting it penetrate further into the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-treat Stain

Mix a teaspoon of heavy-duty laundry detergent with 2 tablespoons of water and apply directly to the stained area. Let it sit for roughly 10 minutes.

Step 3: Clean the Stain

Using a clean cloth, work from the outside to the inside of stain, rubbing in a circular motion. Start at light pressure and increase as needed. Rinse the area with clean water and repeat until the stain has been fully removed.
