Fill a bowl with equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Submerge stained portion of the broomstick lace in the mixture and let it soak for at least 30 minutes. If you have a particularly stubborn stain, you can let it soak for up to an hour.
After soaking, lift the fabric out of bowl and wring out as much of the liquid as possible. Be careful not to twist or pull the fabric too hard, as this could cause it to stretch or tear.
Once the fabric is dry, take a clean cotton cloth and dampen it with white vinegar. Apply the cloth to stained area and then use a toothbrush to scrub gently at the stain. Let the vinegar sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Rinse the fabric with cold water and check to see if stain is gone. If it's still visible, repeat steps four and five until the stain is fully removed.
Once you're satisfied with the results, hang the fabric up to dry. Avoid using a dryer, as the heat could set stain into the fabric.
Getting rid of tar stains on broomstick lace isn't too difficult, but it does require some patience and care. All you need is white vinegar, a clean cloth, and a little bit of elbow grease. With these tips, you'll have your broomstick lace looking good as new in no time!
