If you notice that a suntan lotion stain has just occurred on your workwear, the best first step is to pre-treat the stain with a product specifically designed to remove grease and oil from fabric. Read any enclosed instructions carefully, and then spray or rub appropriate amount of cleaner onto the stained area. Allow it to soak for a few minutes before moving on to the next step.
After you have pre-treated the affected clothing, you will need to machine wash the item on its own. Before throwing it into the washer, be sure to check the care tag and choose an appropriate cycle such as delicate or normal. If you're unsure, opt for the coldest temperature setting available. Add any detergent that you normally would.
Once your clothing has been washed, it's time to dry it. Again, check the care tag for recommendations regarding the type of heat setting to use. Keep in mind that applying too much heat can cause stain to set, making it much more difficult to remove. If possible, let the item air dry in the sun. This can help to naturally bleach the stain, making it easier to remove in the end.
