What You Need

  • A clean white cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • A small bowl
  • Dishwashing detergent
  • Ammonia
  • White vinegar

The Process

  1. Dampen the stained area with a clean white cloth.
  2. Pour some rubbing alcohol into a small bowl and dip the damp cloth into it. Gently dab it onto the stain, making sure not to rub it against the fabric.
  3. Mix a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent into a cup of warm water, then dip the cloth into it. Dab the cloth onto the stain until stain starts to fade.
  4. Mix a tablespoon of ammonia into a cup of warm water, then dip cloth into it. Gently dab the cloth onto the stain until it fades away, being careful not to rub the fabric.
  5. If the stain is still visible, mix a tablespoon of white vinegar with a cup of warm water, then dip the cloth into it. Gently dab it onto the stain until it fades away.
  6. Let the fabric air-dry, then check to make sure the stain has been removed.

Additional Tips

  • Always test the rubbing alcohol, detergent, ammonia, and white vinegar on an inconspicuous spot before applying it to stain.
  • Be sure to use a clean white cloth for each solution - this will ensure that the stain does not spread.
  • If the stain does not completely vanish after the first attempt, repeat the process until the stain is gone.
