Before you start cleaning, make sure to check tags on your umbrella to make sure it is safe to get wet. Next, you need to prepare your cleaning solution. Simply mix a half cup of laundry detergent with a quarter cup of vinegar in a bucket of warm water.

Once your cleaning solution is ready, use a soft cloth to scrub the stained area gently. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can use a soft brush to scrub a little harder. Then, rinse off the cleaning solution with cold water. Finally, leave your umbrella open to air-dry or pat it dry with a towel.

If the stain is still present, try using rubbing alcohol. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a soft cloth and gently rub the stained area. Rinse off the rubbing alcohol with cold water, and air dry your umbrella as before.

To prevent greasy stains from occurring in the future, keep your suntan lotion out of reach when you’re under your umbrella. Enjoy the sunny days without worrying about a mess!
