What You'll Need:

  • White microfiber cloth
  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Stain removal products (optional)

Steps for Cleaning Suntan Lotion from Twill:

  1. Gently dab at the stain with a white microfiber cloth to absorb as much of the lotion as possible.
  2. Run cold water over the stained area and keep dabbing until the fabric gets saturated.
  3. Mix a solution of mild detergent and cold water and apply it directly to the stain. Let the solution sit for 15 minutes before blotting with white microfiber cloth.
  4. Rinse fabric with cold water, and continue to blot until the stain disappears.
  5. If the stain remains, use a stain removal product specifically made for twill fabric. Follow the directions carefully and repeat until stain is gone.

Tips for Avoiding Future Suntan Lotion Stains on Twill

  • Spray your suntan lotion on your hands first, then apply it to your body to reduce the chances of staining on your clothing.
  • Always keep a white microfiber cloth on hand to absorb any lotion that spills onto clothing or other fabric surfaces.
  • Be sure to use cold water when treating stains on twill fabric, as warm or hot water can cause discoloration.
