The first step in cleaning suntan lotion stains is to blot stain with a clean, absorbent cloth. Gently press the cloth against the fabric to soak up as much of the lotion as possible. Be sure to avoid rubbing fabric, as this could cause the stain to spread.
Once you’ve blotted up as much of lotion as possible, it’s time to apply a stain remover. There are many products on the market specifically designed to treat suntan lotion stains. Just make sure that whatever product you use is safe for the type of fabric you’re dealing with.
Before applying the remover, be sure to test a small, hidden area of the fabric to make sure that the product won’t cause any discoloration. Then, follow the instructions on the label to apply the product directly to the stain. Allow the remover to sit on the stain for the amount of time specified on the label before rinsing with cold water.
Once the stain remover has had time to work, wash tracksuit in cold water. It’s important to use cold water, as hot water can cause the stain to set in. Also, be sure to use a laundry detergent that is specifically designed for the fabric you’re washing. Don’t forget to check tracksuit for any remaining stains before drying.
Once the tracksuit is cleaned and dried, inspect it for any remaining stains. If you still see some traces of lotion, simply repeat Steps 1-4 until the stain is gone. With a bit of patience, you should be able to remove the stain completely.
