Materials Needed

  • Oxygen-based bleach
  • Gallon bucket
  • Warm water
  • Sponge or cloth

Steps for Removing Suntan Lotion Stains From Taffeta

  1. Take the taffeta fabric and rinse off any excess suntan lotion with cold water.
  2. In a gallon bucket, mix up a solution of 1 quart warm water and 1 tablespoon of oxygen-based bleach.
  3. Soak the taffeta fabric in the bucket for 15 minutes.
  4. Gently scrub the taffeta with a sponge or cloth to remove all traces of the suntan lotion.
  5. Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove any remaining residue.
