Gather Supplies

To get started, make sure you have the following supplies:

  • White vinegar
  • Unsalted butter
  • Clean white cloth
  • Brush

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Dampen your white cloth with some white vinegar, then gently blot stained area. Don’t rub or scrub stain, since this can cause it to spread or get ground into suede.

Step 2: Apply Butter

Take the unsalted butter and rub a small amount into the stained area. Gently work the butter into the suede until stain begins to lift.

Step 3: Brush the Stain

After the butter has set, take your brush and gently brush the stained area in a circular motion. This will help to further lift the stain from the suede.

Step 4: Repeat If Necessary

If stain persists after the first attempt, repeat steps one through three until stain is completely gone.

Step 5: Let Dry

Once you are satisfied with the results, let the item dry completely before storing.
