Suntan lotion is designed to keep you protected from the sun's harsh rays, but it's not always so friendly when it comes to staining our beloved spandex outfits. The most important step in removing a suntan lotion stain from spandex is to act quickly. The faster you can address the stain, the easier it will be to remove.

Removing Suntan Lotion Stains from Spandex

  1. Gently blot any excess suntan lotion off the spandex fabric with a clean cloth.
  2. Rinse the spandex fabric with cool water as soon as possible to prevent the stain from setting in.
  3. Mix some laundry detergent and warm water in a bucket or sink.
  4. Submerge the stained area into the detergent and water solution for about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove spandex fabric from the solution and rinse thoroughly with cool water.
  6. If the stain is still present, mix one part white vinegar to four parts warm water in a bowl.
  7. Soak the stained area in the vinegar solution for about 10 minutes.
  8. Remove the fabric from vinegar solution and rinse with cool water until all of the vinegar is gone.
  9. Allow the fabric to hang dry or tumble dry on low heat.

By taking these steps, you should be able to completely remove suntan lotion stains from your spandex fabric and keep your favorite outfit looking like new.
