The first step is to take your slippers outside and give them a good shaking to remove any excess residue or lotion remaining on the fabric. If your slippers have memory foam support or cushioning, be sure to give them a light shake instead of a vigorous one to avoid damaging them.
Once that’s done, use a damp cloth to wipe away any remaining suntan lotion residue. Try to get as much out as possible without rubbing too hard. Remember, wet fabric can fade, so it’s important to not soak the slippers with water.
Next, apply a small amount of liquid detergent to the stained area. A toothbrush can come in handy here when it comes to scrubbing away any stubborn spots. Once you’ve worked the detergent into stain, let it sit for a few minutes.
After 10-15 minutes, rinse the slippers with cool water. This will help to remove any remaining residue and help detergent to do its job. Don't forget to take a look at the inside of slippers for any hidden stains!
Your final step is to dry the slippers either by air-drying them or using a delicate setting on the clothes dryer. Make sure to check for any residue or lotion after drying before wearing them again.
With a few simple steps, your slippers are now looking good as new and ready to wear! Now you can relax knowing that you are suntan lotion stain-free.
