What You Need

  • White cloth
  • Warm water
  • Dishwashing liquid or baby shampoo
  • Baking soda paste
  • Hair dryer (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blot the fabric with a white cloth to absorb as much of the lotion as possible.
  2. Rinse the stained area in warm, soapy water. Use either a liquid dishwashing detergent, or a mild baby shampoo.
  3. Mix equal parts of baking soda and water to make a paste, then rub the paste onto the stain. Allow the paste to sit for 15 minutes.
  4. Rinse the area with warm water, then blot again with a white cloth.
  5. If any traces of the stain remain, mix one part rubbing alcohol with two parts water, then sponge it onto the stained area. Allow solution to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water and blot with a cloth.
  6. If stain still persists, try using a hair dryer to warm up the area. This can help activate the cleaning solution and break up the stain.

Tips

  • Always test a small hidden area of the fabric before attempting to clean it. This will help ensure that the process won't damage the material.
  • If you are cleaning a delicate garment, take it to a professional cleaner who specializes in silk satin fabrics.
