Step 1: Blot Stain

When you first notice stain, quickly grab a dry cloth and use it to blot area. Do not rub the fabric, as this could spread the stain.

Step 2: Use a Cleaning Solution

Combine two cups of warm water and a fourth of a cup of liquid dish soap. Dab the mixture onto the stain using a white cloth. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and then gently dab excess solution from the stain. Do not rub fabric.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Run cold water through the back of the raincoat and let it flow through stained area. This will help flush out any remaining bits of dirt or grime. Then gently squeeze out the excess water before laying the coat flat to air dry.

Step 4: Repeat if Necessary

If the stain is not totally gone after first round of cleaning, repeat the process until the spot is removed. A stubborn stain may require several rounds of scrubbing with soap and water.

Step 5: Have it Professionally Cleaned

If stain persists no matter how much you scrub, it may be time to take it to a professional cleaner. They have the necessary tools and supplies to handle tough jobs like this.
