Suntan lotion can be a blessing for those who want to get a nice, bronze glow without having to spend hours in the sun. However, suntan lotion can also leave behind unsightly, embarrassing stains on your clothing. Whether it is your favorite pair of overalls or any other item of clothing, the mess created by suntan lotion can be frustrating to deal with.
Cleaning Your Overall
- If the stain is still wet, try to gently dab at area with a damp, white cloth. If you do this quickly, you should be able to absorb the lotion before it has a chance to set into the fabric.
- You can also use a combination of baking soda and lemon juice to help loosen stain. Mix half a teaspoon of each together in a cup of hot water and stir until the ingredients are evenly mixed. Apply the mixture to the stain, let it soak for fifteen minutes, and then rinse it out.
- If the above methods didn’t work, you may need to use a stronger solution. Start by mixing together some vinegar and dish soap in a bowl. Use a mixer to create a foamy paste and apply it directly to stain. Let it sit for an hour and then rinse the area with cold water.
- Once the stain has been removed, it is important to make sure that you follow up with a quality detergent designed for tough stains. This will help to ensure that your overalls are clean and free of any lingering residue.
By following these simple steps, you should be able to easily remove those pesky suntan lotion stains from your overalls. Just remember to act quickly and always test any cleaning solution on a hidden part of the fabric before applying it directly onto stain. Good luck!
