Begin by applying a pre-treatment stain remover to the stained area. This should be done as soon as possible after you've noticed the stain. Be sure to read the product instructions carefully and follow the recommended application instructions.
Once you've pre-treated the stain, it's time to begin the soaking process. Fill a bucket or large bowl with lukewarm water and add a small amount of laundry detergent. Place soiled item in the water and allow it to soak for about 30 minutes. This will help to weaken and lift the stain from fabric.
After item has soaked for about 30 minutes, use a soft brush to scrub the fabric gently. Then rinse fabric with cold, clean water to remove any remaining traces of soap or detergent. Finally, shake the fabric gently to remove any excess water.
If the stain persists after the pre-treatment, soaking, and rinsing stages, it may be time to try a bleach solution. Make a solution of equal parts chlorine bleach and water and apply it to the stained area with a soft cloth. Allow the solution to sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing off with cold, clean water.
Once the stain has been treated with the bleach solution, give the fabric a final rinse in cold, clean water. Gently squeeze out any excess water, then lay the garment flat on a towel to dry. Do not use an iron or dryer to dry the item, as this may cause the fabric to shrink or discolor.
