How to Remove Suntan Lotion Stains from Your Midi Dress

The cleaning process is different depending on the type of fabric used for your midi dress. Here are the steps for dealing with suntan lotion stains on each type of fabric.

Cotton

Mix equal parts of white vinegar and cold water in a bowl. Use a brush to apply the mixture over stained area. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes. After the time has passed, rinse the area with cold water. Carefully rub stain with a few drops of washing detergent and leave for another 15 minutes. After that, put some cold water over the area and gently rub with a towel.

Silk

Mix a teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with a cup of warm water in a bowl. Soak the stained area for 10 minutes in solution. Then rinse with cold water and gently rub with a towel. Make sure you do not use too much pressure when doing this, as silk is a delicate fabric.

Linen

Mix a teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water in a bowl. Soak the stained area in the solution for 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water and rub deeply but gently with a towel. If the stain persists, repeat the process. Afterwards, air dry or place in the dryer at a low temperature.

Conclusion

It's not easy to remove suntan lotion stains from a midi dress, but with a bit of effort and the right cleaning technique, it can be done. Make sure you take the time to identify fabric and then follow the correct cleaning steps to get it looking its best.
