Instructions

  1. Before you start, make sure the fabric can be washed. Check the wash instructions on the garment tag.
  2. Mix a solution of 1 tablespoon of liquid detergent and 1/2 cup of warm water. Apply the mixture directly onto the stain and soak for a few minutes.
  3. Once the solution has been applied, wipe the area gently with a clean cloth and rinse with cold water.
  4. If the stain is still visible, mix 1 tablespoon of borax powder with 1/2 cup of warm water and apply directly to the stain. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
  5. If the stain persists, apply a spot-cleaning product directly to stain and allow it to sit for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
  6. Machine wash according to the instructions on garment tag and allow to air dry. Once dry, check that stain is no longer visible.

Tips

  • Always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of fabric to make sure it won't cause discoloration.
  • Be gentle when wiping the stain—rubbing the fabric too hard could damage fibers.
