Start by pre-treating the stain with cold water and a gentle soap. Blot the spot gently with a clean cloth and lather up any soapy residue to break down any oils in the suntan lotion.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, you can use a stain remover designed specifically for suntan lotion. If you don’t have a specific product available, you can also use a laundry detergent to help remove the stain.
Once the stain remover or detergent has been applied, follow the instructions for washing the hoodie. This will usually involve washing in cold water on a delicate cycle and tumble drying on low heat.
Before you put the hoodie in the dryer, do a spot check to make sure that the suntan lotion stain has been completely removed. If not, repeat steps 1-3 until stain is gone.
If stain still won’t come out, you can apply an oxygen-based bleach, such as hydrogen peroxide. Make sure to read the instructions carefully and test a small area first before applying it to the entire surface.
Once you’re done, enjoy your clean hoodie without those pesky suntan lotion stains. With right techniques, your hoodie will look as good as new again!
