Getting suntan lotion on your favorite handbag is the last thing anyone wants. Fortunately, getting rid of stains doesn't have to be a headache. With just three simple steps, you can make sure that your handbag remains stain free.
Using a spoon or knife, scrape off as much of the suntan lotion as possible. If the stain is still very wet, you may also want to use a paper towel to wipe away any excess product.
Once you've removed as much of lotion as you can, it's time to tackle stain itself. You can do this by using a specialized stain remover like Folex, or by creating your own mixture at home. To make your own stain remover, add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent, and a cup of warm water to a spray bottle and shake well. Spray affected area and let sit for a few minutes before blotting dry with a clean cloth.
Once the stain has been removed, it's time to finish the job. Create a laundry detergent and water solution by mixing 1 teaspoon of detergent with 1 cup of warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and gently dab at the stained area. Blot with a clean dry cloth and then air dry.
With these three simple steps, you can easily get rid of suntan lotion stains and keep your handbag looking as good as new.
