What You Need:

  • A clean sponge or towel
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • White vinegar
  • Iron

Instructions:

  1. Gently blot any excess suntan lotion from surface of the gingham fabric with a clean, damp sponge or towel.
  2. Mix one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with two cups of cold water in a bowl.
  3. Dip a clean sponge or towel into the mixture and gently blot stained area.
  4. Rinse the area with cold water to remove soapy residue.
  5. If the stain remains, mix one part white vinegar with one part cold water and apply directly to the stain.
  6. Gently scrub area with a scrub brush or toothbrush.
  7. Rinse the area thoroughly with cold water and allow to air dry.
  8. If necessary, press the area with a warm iron to set stain.

Tips and Warnings:

  • Be sure to work on the stain as soon as possible, as the longer it has to set, the more difficult it will be to remove.
  • Take care not to scrub too hard, as fabric may become damaged.
  • Always test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area first before applying to the entire surface.
