Whether you accidentally dabbed yourself with too much lotion or a curious child has left yellowish spots on your precious garment, stain removal can seem daunting. But don't worry - removing those pesky sunscreen stains from your Chantilly lace is easier than you think! Here's what you need to do.

What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish detergent
  • Soft-bristle brush

Instructions:

  1. Mix a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts water.
  2. Dip a soft-bristle brush into the solution and gently scrub the affected area in a circular motion. Do not scrub too hard or you may damage the fabric.
  3. Rinse solution off with cold water.
  4. If any stains remain, mix a solution of two tablespoons baking soda and one teaspoon dish detergent. Apply the solution to stained area and scrub gently again in a circular motion.
  5. When you are done, rinse the fabric with cold water.
  6. Allow the lace to air dry completely before wearing or storing.

Additional Tips:

  • To prevent stains from setting permanently into the fabric, it is best to treat them as soon as possible.
  • Always test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of fabric first.
  • For heavily stained fabrics, repeat the steps above until the stains are removed.
  • If the stains still won’t come out after multiple attempts, try using laundry detergent instead of dish detergent and baking soda.
