Capris are a summer wardrobe staple and, while they are comfortable and stylish, they can also be difficult to clean. Step 1: Blotting

Your first step is to blot the stain with a damp cloth. Moving from outside to the inside of the stain, gently press the cloth against the fabric to absorb the suntan lotion. Be sure not to rub the stain, as this will cause it to set in further.

Step 2: Pre-Treat

Once you have blotted as much as possible, you should pre-treat the stain using a mixture of detergent or laundry soap and water. Rub the mixture into the stain using your fingers, then let it sit on the fabric for about five minutes. After five minutes, rinse off the soap mixture with warm water.

Step 3: Wash the Capris

Next, it’s time to throw the capris in washing machine. Set the washing cycle to “warm” and add a color-safe bleach to cycle. Let the capris wash and dry as normal, then inspect them for any remaining suntan lotion stain.

Step 4: Repeat if Necessary

If there is still some stain left after the initial wash, repeat steps 2 and 3 until it has been completely removed. If the stain persists, take the capris to a dry cleaner for professional help.

Conclusion

Removing suntan lotion stains from capris may seem like a daunting task, but with the right steps it is possible. By blotting the stain, pre-treating it, and washing the capris in warm water with a color-safe bleach, most suntan lotion stains can be easily removed.
