Instructions

Before attempting to remove the stain, make sure that your wool clothing is washable. If the clothing is not washable or has been dry-cleaned, do not attempt to remove the stain yourself, as this may damage the fabric.

  1. Moisten a clean white cloth with plain, water.
  2. Blot stained area gently with the cloth to remove any excess liquid.
  3. Mix two teaspoons of ammonia with one cup of warm water.
  4. Moisten a second clean cloth with the mixture.
  5. Blot stained area with the moistened cloth until the stain has been lifted.
  6. If the stain persists, mix one teaspoon of a mild detergent with one cup of warm water.
  7. Moisten a clean cloth with the detergent mixture and blot the stained area.
  8. After the stain has been removed, rinse the fabric with warm water.
  9. Allow the item to air dry or use a fan to speed up drying time.

Tips

  • Do not scrub or rub fabric when attempting to remove the stain, as this may damage the fabric.
  • The ammonia and detergent solutions should only be used on washable fabrics.
  • Do not use hot water as this may set stain.
  • It's a good idea to test the solutions on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before using them to remove the stain.
