As soon as you spot a sparkling wine stain, take a clean piece of cloth or paper towel and carefully dab the area to absorb some of the excess liquid. Do not rub the stain as this can cause it to spread further.
Mix a tablespoon of mild detergent with half a cup of warm water. Using a clean, white cloth, gently dab the cleaning solution onto the stained area. Take care not to scrub too hard as this could damage the fabric.
Once you are done, rinse off the detergent solution with lukewarm water, dabbing the area gently as you go. If needed, you can repeat steps two and three until the stain has completely disappeared.
Using a clean cloth, carefully dry the area where you applied the detergent solution. Try not to rub fabric too hard, as this could damage delicate fabric.
Sparkling wine stains can be tricky, so don’t assume that the stain is completely gone after the first try. If, after a few hours, you still spot some bubbles on the fabric, repeat the process described above until the stain disappears.
