The best way to approach removing sparkling wine stains from your vans depends on the type of material. For example, if your vans are made from canvas and synthetic leather, a few simple steps should suffice.

What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Soft cloth
  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar

Step 1: Blot Up The Stain

Using a soft cloth, blot up as much of liquid as possible. Do not rub or scrub stain, as this can push the wine further into the material, making it more difficult to remove.

Step 2: Create A Cleaning Solution

Now that you have blotted most of the liquid away, make a simple cleaning solution using water and dish soap or a mild detergent. Gently rub the solution onto the stained area with a cloth, taking care not to scrub or rub too hard.

Step 3: Rinse The Stain

Rinse the solution off the vans with cool water. If the stain is still visible, move on to next step.

Step 4: Treat The Stain With Baking Soda

Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda directly onto the stain. Let it sit for 30 minutes before wiping off.

Step 5: Use White Vinegar

If the stain is still there, use white vinegar to help remove it. Mix 2 parts white vinegar to 1 part water and gently dab the stain with a soft cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain.

Step 6: Let It Dry

Let the vans air dry in a place free from direct sunlight. Once the vans are completely dry, you should be able to see the stain has been removed.
