Start by blotting stain with a clean cloth. Do not scrub fabric vigorously, as this might damage it. For best results, use a mixture of 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar for every cup of warm water. Dip the cloth in the solution and start blotting the stained area.
If the stain is still visible, try using a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts rubbing alcohol. Liberally apply this to the stain and allow it to sit for several minutes before blotting it with a clean cloth. If necessary, repeat the process a few times until the stain is gone.
If the stain is still visible after trying the above methods, you may need to use special stain removers that are available at most stores. These cleaners may contain enzymes that will help break down the stain and make it easier to remove. Be sure to test the product on a small, inconspicuous area of the garment before applying it to the stained area.
To prevent sparkling wine stains from occurring in the future, always blot away any excess liquid as soon as possible. Additionally, avoid using hot water or harsh chemicals on your clothing, as these can set the stain and make it harder to remove.
