Using a clean, white towel, gently blot the stained area until most of the excess liquid is absorbed. Take care not to rub the fabric too hard, as this could cause the stain to spread.
Prepare a solution of cold water and a few drops of mild laundry detergent or wool wash. Submerge the stained area in the solution and let it sit for 15 minutes. After the fabric has soaked, rinse it out with cold water to remove the soap residue.
Mix a solution of equal parts vinegar and cold water and apply it directly onto stain. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it out with cold water. This will help to loosen stain and brighten fabric.
For a more stubborn stain, apply a small amount of oxygen-based bleach directly onto the fabric. Allow it to soak for approximately 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. Be sure to read and follow the instructions on the product label before use.
Lay the fabric flat on a clean towel and allow it to air dry. Check fabric regularly to make sure the stain is gone before moving it to a clothesline or drying rack.
With these five simple steps, you can easily remove sparkling wine stains from your delicate Teneriffe lace fabric. Take care to pretreat fabric before washing it, and be sure to check the fabric regularly while it's drying to ensure that the stain has been completely removed.
