When it comes to cleaning up sparkling wine stains from a sundress, the sooner you act, the more successful you will be in removing the stain. First, blot any remaining liquid from stained area with a clean white cloth. Next, apply a small amount of cold water to the stain to moisten fabric and prevent it from setting further.
Once the fabric is damp, mix 1 teaspoon of clear dishwashing liquid with 2 cups of cool water in a basin. Submerge the affected area of the sundress in the solution, and gently agitate it for several minutes. When finished, thoroughly rinse the fabric with cold water and repeat the process as necessary until stain begins to fade.
If the stain has set, try blotting the area with a combination of white vinegar and cold water. Start by dabbing the area with the vinegar mixture first, and then use a clean cloth soaked in cold water to rinse the affected area.
You can also try saturating the stained area with a pre-wash product that contains active enzymes, such as a laundry soaking detergent. Once the sundress has been soaked for about 30 minutes, launder as normal.
Once stain is gone, hang the sundress outside in natural sunlight to dry, then iron it on low heat.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
