Just like red or white wine, sparkling wine can produce nasty stains on clothes, carpets and other fabric surfaces. Fortunately, if you act quickly, you can remove sparkling wine stains from stockings without a problem.
What You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Dishwashing detergent
- Clean cloth
Instructions
- Immediately rinse the stain with cold water. This will help dilute the stain and help it set in less.
- Cover the stain with baking soda and leave it for 10 minutes.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and dishwashing detergent, then apply it onto stain.
- Rub the stained area gently with a clean cloth or sponge.
- Rinse again with cold water.
- If stain is still there, repeat the process until it's gone.
Tips and Warnings
- Always test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying it to stained part of the stockings.
- Do not use hot water as it will fix the stain instead of loosening it.
- Do not expose the stockings to direct sunlight as this will fade the color.
