What You'll Need

  • Club soda
  • Salt
  • Vinegar
  • Soft cloth
  • Clean water

Step 1: Blot Stain

The first step is to blot stained area with a soft, dry cloth, to absorb some of the liquid. Don't press or rub the area, as this can cause the stain to spread and set in deeper.

Step 2: Prepare the Solution

In a bowl or container, mix together equal parts club soda and salt, stirring until dissolved. If necessary, you may also add a tablespoon of white vinegar.

Step 3: Apply the Solution

Cover the stained area with the solution, using a soft cloth. Gently dab the solution into fabric, avoiding rubbing or scrubbing which can cause the stain to set in even more.

Step 4: Allow Solution to Soak

Allow the solution to soak into fabric for 10-15 minutes. During this time, monitor the area and avoid allowing the stain to spread further.

Step 5: Rinse with Clean Water

Once the solution has had enough time to work its magic, rinse with clear water. For best results, use lukewarm water.
